Make it your Luque night
It wasn't the sort of fixture he had in mind when he left the joys of La Liga behind.
But Albert Luque will run out tonight at Kingston Park against Blackburn in the ressies to try once more to force his way into the mind of Glenn Roeder.
Luque couldn't have enjoyed his stint on Tyneside to date and has swapped the life of a hero with Deportivo in Spain for a life of a bench player in the Premiership.
Yet with a squad preparing to board the plane for Palermo extremely short of strikers the boss may be planning to run the rule over the man who lashed in over 50 goals in one of Europe's toughest Leagues.
Michael Owen's frustrations continue, Shola Ameobi is struggling with hip problems and Seppe Rossi can't play because of restrictions in the deal that brought him on loan from Man U.
And Oba Martins is also nursing a knock.
Surely Luque will get a sniff in Sicily.
What have United got to lose against the Serie A joint leaders?

I can't see us getting anything away to a side who recently beat AC Milan in the San Siro. The chances are they will teach us a lesson in football. We are bound to have limited possession and I'm sure chances will be few and far between for whoever plays up front - I just hope if Luque does play that he doesn't take the flack if the whole team struggles.
Still, we haven't lost yet - not many thought we'd beat Fenerbahce and we did that quite impressively, so maybe we CAN get a result on Thursday, and maybe Luque can finally kick-start his Newcastle career once and for all?
I agree lee.
If luque doesn't start playing soon he may as well leave and newcastle will make more losses.
