What price Antoine Sibierski netting the winner at Man City tomorrow?
Make no bones about it the Frenchman was laughed out of Eastlands when he left to sign for Newcastle.
Indeed Sibierski's exit at City resulted in websites, phone-ins and letters pages being bombarded with ridicule at Newcastle's so called stupidity to sign a player that couldn't even get a game for Stuart Pearce's side.
One Man City follower said: "As a Man City fan I'm amazed that anyone should want to sign Sibierski.
“No pace, no touch and a 6ft- something player who can't head a ball.
Indeed how silly of us but wait a minute Sibi - nicknamed 50p head at City - obviously hasn't read the script.
He certainly headed the ball against Watford and Tallinn didn't he? And it was actually between those three big white pieces of wood with the net on the back too!
There is no better situation for a man to be in than to be underestimated - or better still rejected.
And it's a position Sibierski is revelling in.
Nobody is daft enough on Tyneside to call Sibi a world class act and nobody is calling him one either.
But after taking advantage of the extremely low expecation levels on his shoulders, Sibierski has weighed in with some crucial goals in his short time at United - not bad considering his position is meant to be a ball winning midfield man.
And it remains to be seen just how crucial his goals to date will turn out to be at the end of the season.
Sibi is a man who is just happy to be playing for a side he regards as a big club and happy to have a second chance at life in the Premiership.
He took no time at all to get going against the not so mighty but gritty Levadia Tallinn and was on cue to net the winner in Estonia on his debut.
And where would United have been without his strike when Fenerbahce came to Toon in the UEFA Cup as Newcastle won by the slenderest of threads against the feisty Turkish unit?
At Watford it's certainly true that he could have had a hat-trick against the Hornets but he still popped up with another header to get the night started in the right fashion.
Is it fair to say Sibi has already exceeded the United's fans expectations?
And even though life is still pretty miserable at Newcastle and nobody is trying to paint a false picture on Tyneside, at least Sibierski represents somebody who is trying their heart out.
Isn't that exactly what Newcastle need at the moment?
Three goals in five starts is a decent tally, albeit all of his goals coming in the cups - but Man City haven't exactly faired better since he's gone with Georgios Samaras chalking up the same tally.
Perhaps the Frenchman has been waiting to net his first goal for Glenn Roeder at his old club Man City.
It's a goal the Toon Army would love to see and the only way to answer your critics is on the pitch.
Take your chance Sibi.
