So the franchise now known as Liverpool Football Club are now sniffing around Newcastle United's injured striker Michael Owen.
Apparently Texas squillionaire Tom Hicks wants to spend some of his Kop kitty on our man Owen, who we have seen play just 11 times in a black and white shirt and bag seven goals.
Worse still Glenn Roeder has only been able to rely on his services for just 29 minutes in more than a year in charge.
And now the Yanks, who have only just got their feet under the table at Anfield, are on about bringing Owen home!
Well let's been honest they could have done with him on Saturday!
Ok, ok, i'm gloating but after getting Stanley blinking Collymore or 4-3 or match of the 1990s rammed down our throats everytime Sky even utter the words Liverpool v Newcastle - we are entitled to it, right?
Yesterday was our turn to be happy.
And even if the Texas tycoon Hicks does fancy taking Owen away from Newcastle, I think he'll struggle with Newcastle hellbent on making his £17million move from Real Madrid the success everybody dreamed of when 20,000 fans turned up to see him sign a piece of paper no less.
Owen is under contract until 2009 at least and told fans that he was here as long as people want him after that back in October.
Since then he has been working away trying to get fit in time for before the end of the season.
Good luck Michael, let's hope that's in the UEFA Cup final.
Remember dreams can come true.
But getting back to the mudbath at SJP and a certain Craig Bellamy.
It was on the cards he'd score and the little cheeky Welsh scamp took just six minutes to do it.
We knew it would happen didn't we?
But who thought we'd fight back?
Well as good as Liverpool think they are, they aren't unbeatable and so it proved.
12 goals now for Oba Martins and a penalty from Nobby Solano means 2-1 Newcastle.
Kop that Liverpool.
And keep your hands off our Michael!
