Newcastle United fans have been speculating just who is the next man for the job in the past couple of days with many of them scratching their heads wondering just who is the man to sort this mess out.
Let's be honest we've tried everything and we've still won nowt since 1969!
We went with the big names in Ossie Ardiles, Kevin Keegan, Kenny Dalglish, Sir Bobby Robson and Graeme Souness.
Glenn Roeder was next and then Sam Allardyce - not regarded as big names in football - but certainly installed as boss for what people thought were the right reasons.
Harry Redknapp's name today was pushed into the picture.
Let's look at the cold facts.
Should United opt for Redknapp, the Londoner would arrive at Newcastle with no trophies on his CV, unless you count the Intertoto Cup.
He did leave West Ham to fifth place in the Premier League - the same position that earned Robson the sack at United - but his Pompey career has only resulted in mid-table mediocrity
And this season? Certain people are saying Pompey are having a good year.
Yet Portsmouth are currently just three places above Newcastle in the table, have won just TWICE at home and haven't scored at Fratton Park since September 29.
Those goals came when Pompey beat Reading 7-4 in what can only be described as a freak game, before that the south coast side hadn't scored at home since August.
Don't forget as well Redknapp quit Pompey for Southampton, took Saints down, then went back to Fratton Park.
If a Newcastle manager quit St James's Park and went to Sunderland, would he be welcomed back with open arms?
Hardly likely.
But then that's not the point.
Talk of a proven manager with a great track record coming in and a man who is going to get Newcastle playing proper football again certainly would not tally with the appointment of Redknapp.
Redknapp is also on bail until next month after being caught up in a City of London Police probe in which five men were arrested last year, including former Toon player Amdy Faye.
It's already been met with opposition from some fans.
BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK?
WOULD HARRY REDKNAPP BE THE RIGHT MAN FOR THE JOB IN TOON?
