JUST when you thought following the black and whites couldn't get any crazier eh?
The third coming of the Messiah has resulted in strong rumours that there has been a third departure for King Kev.
Everybody understood when he left as a player after taking the club back to the top, everybody was rocked when he left as a manager in 1997 but 2008 has to be the biggest bodyblow for the Toon Army.
When Keegan first arrived back in January it was clear that Mike Ashley had sold him a dream, a dream that meant he was able to get on with some unfinished business but what has happened since?
Has it been another case of it not being "like it said in the brochure."
The lowdown is the dream of KK bringing trophies to the club seems to have been torn apart in just eight months with 5,000 empty seats a possible sign of how the future is going to go - if he doesn't stay.
With nothing confirmed by the club at this stage the situation remains unclear with a meeting between the club's owners and KK believed to hinge around the politics surrounding the transfer window.
Controversy surrounded the future of Joey Barton, controversy surrounded the departure of James Milner and a proposed move for "four or five players" resulted in the arrival of just two players from La Liga that only have potential to offer the black and whites.
As usual the rumour mill was in meltdown on Tyneside today and the bookies unsurprisingly quickly unleashed a list of possible replacements.
But with fans gathering outside St James's Park to see exactly what is going on, the unthinkable could be about to unfold.

I think its time for ashley to sell the club and move on. He seems to be more interested in putting loads of junk in his shops than a few players in the black and white shirt. What has Ashley done to one of the greatest football clubs in the world? please let him sell it to someone who is interested in football and willing to make improvements at the club - it really looks like he wants to run the club into the ground whilst laughing in the face of the fans. I can imagine that he is so unaware that he might try and sit with the fans on Saturday (if any turn up)

I am disgusted by the way Ashley has handled the club and media since he has been here. He has no passion, desire or ambition for Newcastle United Football Club. KK is the man brought in to finally turn the club from a sleeping giant into a powerhouse to contend with the elite. Only one man should know what players he wants brought in, and moved on and thats King Kev. I wasn't too bothered with the sale of Milner, but I cant stand Ashley cowering behing the messiah when he makes stupid decisions. Kev has been a brave man being the face of those above him, but enough is enough now. Let Keegan run the club and watch the rewards.

It's worth remembering that if Keegan quits, then it is Keegan that has walked away from us again.
Everyone is blaming Ashley and Wise, but unless they have been actively lying to and undermining Keegan to his face, maybe if he really loves the fans and the club he would stick it out even if he hasn't been able to buy every player he wanted. Even if he hasn't had much say in the players that have come in, they look decent, and the only player that has left that he maybe didn't want to go was Milner, who is hugely over-rated anyway.
In every post, I've urged others to keep faith, particularly in Kevin Keegan.

Mike Ashley is patently both not the man he claimed he was and not the man to own a club with the support and the heritage of NUFC if He's willing to let an underachieving no-hoper like Dennis Wise and a couple of chancers with contacts in a couple of Spanish clubs take responsibility for recruiting players over the man who's shown his commitment to this club time and time again.
You don't hire a manager and let a tea-boy run the business any entrepreneur should know that. Obviously Mike Ashley doesn't and the quicker he sells out to someone who does the better.
I never thought we could find anyone who even remotely starts to make Fat Fred appear honourable. Unfortunately it would appear that that might be the case.

I feel sorry for all the fans who have paid their hard earned cash for their season tickets with the belief that we would be spending enough cash to take us forward, if only into the top 10. Once again we are the laughing stock.

My support is always going to be with Newcastle United as a club year in year out and that is regardless of personnel either at board or pitch level and as i understand calls to boycott games and for the geordies to call for that shows how bad a job mike have done peoples anger,frustrations have to be aimed in the right direction and done in a way that the team still has the support regardless

Those with season tiockets have already paid for league games, but not for Cup games. Standing and chanting outside an empty St. James' for the Spurs match will show support for the players and Keegan, and take a slice out of Ashley's take - and show the country the attitude of the supporters (it's live on Sky isn't it?).
I feel cheated. I have spent 1334 pounds on season tickets for the next three years and for this to happen!!

Not all BIG clubs are privately owned or on the stock market. Two of the most successful teams in Europe, Real Madrid and Barcelona are actually sports clubs. The President and board are actually elected by the members / season ticket holders and they are held to democratic account. I don't see Real Madrid or Barcelona short of a few bob when it comes to buying the best players. They don't need cynical money grabbing billionaires to win silverware. Why should we?
Let's learn from this circus and start a campaign for fan's control of NUFC. Do you think Ashley or Wise would be elected if season ticket holders voted for the board.

Alas the appointment of KK was always doomed I fear. Ashley in his 'King Kev' shirt had the alarm bells ringing for me and since the beginning of his tenure theres been this almost obscene spectacle of the fat oaf and his equally corpulent hangers on gurning inanely throughout a match regardless of the score. His impersonation of Barney from the Simpsons at HT at the Emirates might have raised a chuckle with some but its disturbing really.
I suspect Ashley & co. are just having a boys own jamboree at the expense of the Toon faithful who they probs view as parochial chumps who never take their b/w shirts off. Maybe theres some truth in this, as there is with football fans everywhere but unfortunately the media are keen to jump all over any hint that us 'daft Geordies' are making mugs of ourselves over our football club. Anyway even if he does have some nefarious scheme to make a fast buck off the club, it wont work and surely he realizes that investing in Prem football clubs is largely sunk money.
Aye, the whole initial scene of smug Ashley trying to play the role of lercal hero when KK was unveiled was all a bit unseemly and then suddenly Dennis Wise inexplicably emerges in his 'executive' capacity. It was never going to work, KK wants full control but even his appointment was questionable. You always knew something had to give eventually.
Despite all the understandable wrath, hopefully(!) this is the time to move on to a proper new era leaving past legacies where they belong. This is the second time it has been badly misjudged the treatment of a popular figure at the club. Bobby was given short shrift after bringing a sense of gravitas to the club. Now Kev has been hoodwinked and put in a bad position to confirm the flakey character status many media bods like to afford him.
So what next? Assuming Wisey is a short term measure and any self-respecting and highly professional manager will be sceptical(!) about their prospects of building something, will Fat-heid go for Shearer?? Im already anticipating Ashley in his out-sized 'Big Al' shirt! Dont do it Shearer.......

This was on the cards months ago and was the reason I didn't renew my season ticket after 12 years Oh and plus the fact the price went up to £990. So no I won't be at the Hull game or any other.
That's it for me. If that dimwit can't see what he's done to the club, there's no telling what he'll continue to do. Let's afce it, there have been rumours in the national media about the divisions in the club, the role of Wise and the nature of Ashley's ownership. Much of this has been ignored because the fans and the local media resent outsiders passing opinions which are usually negative, but it looks like we were wrong and you have to wonder why the local TV, radio and print media haven't been more pro-active about some of the stuff that's been happening. I think that for one one game, we ought to boycott it.
I've defended Ashley over the past few weeks. Keegan was my barometer. As long as Kev was there, I was prepared to cut Ashley some slack. Well, that's it. I'm finished with the club. As long as Ashley's there, I won't be. We have got to make against the idiots ruining our club. I don't care what he paid to buy it. Or what debts he's written off. Not sure about all these calls for Ashley's head. Is he running individual transfer decisions or is it Llambias, the man who runs the club day to day and apparently had the 'blazing row' with Keegan.
It seems to me Keegan is doing his job, but Llambias arguing when he hasn't done his job at all in this transfer window, doesn't bide well.
He needs to either lighten up or replace the men who aren't doing their job. What does Denis Wise do at this club again?
Jiminez or whatever he is called, has lined up all the Spanish talent, Keegan has got them playing well for the team, but who is responsible for making the much needed improvements to the squad in this transfer window?

I'm down more than annoyed to be honest. We were eventually starting to play POSITIVE football, and towards the end of last season have been putting in some good performances. We now have to go through the slow cooker wait of finding a new manger (Deportivo manager rumour is convincing... as is anything with a Spanish twang.) What are the new players going to be thinking? (nevermind all of us!) I will be going to the match as I vocally support the lads all through the game, and have paid for our season tickets. However, I will be there before/after the game to voice me opinions toward the utter stupidity of even thinking of parting with Kevin.
Kevin was here for one thing... and that was to complete unfinished business by playing good football. For once, salary and wages doesn't come into it. To win something, you must invest big bucks. Surely, Ashley wasn't naive enough to think it would work any other way? Look at the Abu D. group... as soon as they take over Man City, they go putting bids in for Robinho, Berbatov, and Villa! That is the hardcore investment which the club needs to attempt to get into the top 4! Which I bet was what was sold to Keegan by Ashley. Keegan is a decent and honest football man. The least he expects is the same honesty in return from the people who 'run'??? the club he loves. I think kk has been made to give some statements that have come from from the board in order to not bring any ill thought against them. Theyve used kk to shield themselves from the fans frustrations of lack of player investment.
I reckon kk has had enough of giving us this rubbish eg. the milner statement and decided to have it out with the board. Until kk speaks publicly its all just speculation of course but kk has been trying to put an optimistic face on things for a while, knowing we were hoping for a wow signing and getting a 'who' instead.
One things for sure if ashley didnt know already he does now,kk has the majority of fans backing over him or any of his cronies. After the scenes outside st.james they release the statement to ease frustrations distance themselves from blame.

I have said all along that Keegan coming back was a mistake. If both he and Ashley go then great. However that in itself will not change anything until the cancer that obviously affects NUFC has been cut out.
