Toon fans praying that Keegan storm will pass

By Lee Ryder on Sep 2, 08 01:17 PM

Kevin KeeganJUST when you thought following the black and whites couldn't get any crazier eh?

The third coming of the Messiah has resulted in strong rumours that there has been a third departure for King Kev.

Everybody understood when he left as a player after taking the club back to the top, everybody was rocked when he left as a manager in 1997 but 2008 has to be the biggest bodyblow for the Toon Army.

When Keegan first arrived back in January it was clear that Mike Ashley had sold him a dream, a dream that meant he was able to get on with some unfinished business but what has happened since?

Has it been another case of it not being "like it said in the brochure."

The lowdown is the dream of KK bringing trophies to the club seems to have been torn apart in just eight months with 5,000 empty seats a possible sign of how the future is going to go - if he doesn't stay.

With nothing confirmed by the club at this stage the situation remains unclear with a meeting between the club's owners and KK believed to hinge around the politics surrounding the transfer window.

Controversy surrounded the future of Joey Barton, controversy surrounded the departure of James Milner and a proposed move for "four or five players" resulted in the arrival of just two players from La Liga that only have potential to offer the black and whites.

As usual the rumour mill was in meltdown on Tyneside today and the bookies unsurprisingly quickly unleashed a list of possible replacements.

But with fans gathering outside St James's Park to see exactly what is going on, the unthinkable could be about to unfold.

Ashley's so tight.

He sold us a dream and bottled it.

He's asset stripping and using the club to make cash selling on young talent.

All he has to do is have a team capable of avoiding relegation and he'll cash in big time.

Support KK.

Please don't support a Shearer bid and let the fat fake off the hook.

I thought it was non-alcoholic ... right

I think its time for ashley to sell the club and move on. He seems to be more interested in putting loads of junk in his shops than a few players in the black and white shirt. Howay Mike, do us all a favour sell the club to some one who can pump some decent resources into it and make us the success that we deservedly need. Don't worry am sure you can still come and down a pint at SJP. I may even buy you one if you sell to the right person. Who wants a job of managing this club? answers on a postcard to SJP

Craig Skuse said:

What has Ashley done to one of the greatest football clubs in the world? please let him sell it to someone who is interested in football and willing to make improvements at the club - it really looks like he wants to run the club into the ground whilst laughing in the face of the fans. I can imagine that he is so unaware that he might try and sit with the fans on Saturday (if any turn up)

Time after time we are a shambles of a club. How can Keegan run the club when ashley and his group of merry men keep sticking their noses. Why should keegan take any advice from a man like Wise???? We all hate him, He's a Dwarf.
If Wise takes over there will be riots at the next match, I bet you dont see ashley in with the fans again.

Seriously - I know this is a big ask for season ticket holders who've already paid for their tickets - but if Keegan has gone, imagine the effect if SJP was empty (out of protest) for the Hull game. I mean EMPTY - save for few Hull supporters. We owe it to Kev, to the club's long term well being and to ourselves. Put up with this and our self respect is shot.!

...100% behind Keegan!

He was the only reason I renewed my ticket for this year.

Protest outside the stadium from now until the fat fake sells.

I have to second that emotion Tom, if this disaster has actually befallen us then we must stay away and en mass demand our money back as the goods we received (season tickets) are "not fit for purpose"!

I am disgusted by the way Ashley has handled the club and media since he has been here. He has no passion, desire or ambition for Newcastle United Football Club. KK is the man brought in to finally turn the club from a sleeping giant into a powerhouse to contend with the elite. Only one man should know what players he wants brought in, and moved on and thats King Kev. I wasn't too bothered with the sale of Milner, but I cant stand Ashley cowering behing the messiah when he makes stupid decisions. Kev has been a brave man being the face of those above him, but enough is enough now. Let Keegan run the club and watch the rewards.

WHAT A DISGRACE!

It's worth remembering that if Keegan quits, then it is Keegan that has walked away from us again.
Everyone is blaming Ashley and Wise, but unless they have been actively lying to and undermining Keegan to his face, maybe if he really loves the fans and the club he would stick it out even if he hasn't been able to buy every player he wanted. Even if he hasn't had much say in the players that have come in, they look decent, and the only player that has left that he maybe didn't want to go was Milner, who is hugely over-rated anyway.

David K said:

In every post, I've urged others to keep faith, particularly in Kevin Keegan.

I'm not too proud to eat my own words.

Mike Ashley is patently both not the man he claimed he was and not the man to own a club with the support and the heritage of NUFC if He's willing to let an underachieving no-hoper like Dennis Wise and a couple of chancers with contacts in a couple of Spanish clubs take responsibility for recruiting players over the man who's shown his commitment to this club time and time again.

You don't hire a manager and let a tea-boy run the business any entrepreneur should know that. Obviously Mike Ashley doesn't and the quicker he sells out to someone who does the better.

I never thought we could find anyone who even remotely starts to make Fat Fred appear honourable. Unfortunately it would appear that that might be the case.

If I wasn't an ex-pat mag, I'd be boycotting the Hull game too. I'd rather give my entrance fee to charity than line Mr Ashley's pockets.

Robby H said:

This merry - go round of emotional turmoil can't get any worse. Only Newcastle United could out do any other headlines the day after some billionaire Arab takes over Man City and tries to buy half a team of Gallitico's (spelling!). What next ???
Does the club have any structure what so ever. The penny dropped when Wise and co. were employed. What company has ever worked under such a set up. Well, Mr Ashley how do you get out of this hole...

I SAY SELL AND RUN!!!

Those with season tiockets have already paid for league games, but not for Cup games. Standing and chanting outside an empty St. James' for the Spurs match will show support for the players and Keegan, and take a slice out of Ashley's take - and show the country the attitude of the supporters (it's live on Sky isn't it?).

I feel cheated. I have spent 1334 pounds on season tickets for the next three years and for this to happen!!

If Wise is now offered the job then I don't know what I am going to do.

The only people who will want to manage or play for us will be second raters. I cannot believe that we are in this situation so early in the season. I hate to say it but we have become a joke. How can you support a club who treat people like Keegan in this way?!!

I write from Cyprus - I might just stay!!

John Hird said:

As others have said we have to stop putting our faith in billionaires who are only in it for themselves. The strength of NUFC has and always will be it's loyal support. Let's build on that. I know the Premier League trend is for a foreign mega-bucks to buy our clubs and we say thank-you very much and continue to be ripped off. IT'S TIME TO END THIS HEARTBREAKING MEMORY GO ROUND.

Not all BIG clubs are privately owned or on the stock market. Two of the most successful teams in Europe, Real Madrid and Barcelona are actually sports clubs. The President and board are actually elected by the members / season ticket holders and they are held to democratic account. I don't see Real Madrid or Barcelona short of a few bob when it comes to buying the best players. They don't need cynical money grabbing billionaires to win silverware. Why should we?

Let's learn from this circus and start a campaign for fan's control of NUFC. Do you think Ashley or Wise would be elected if season ticket holders voted for the board.

Keep the faith King Kev and thanks a million for being a man of principle.

We were passing the ball beautifully.

Fast with confidence.
If a man was on ... it didn't matter the team we were slick and positive.

Sure, Arsenal was a wake up call, but realistically without 3 x £30 million WOW signings we were always going to struggle against the top 4/5/6 (Now City and Villa are cash rich).

What a difference under Keegan ...

They'll be in a board meeting saying "ride out the storm, give it a month and the Geordie mugs will soon forget about KK"

I hope Shearer's got the credibility to tell Ashley to shove it.

Because Shearer is the only manager that could ever come close.

But not now please Al!
I don't want to boo you.

Only the TOON, my beloved toon could somehow manage to get it sooooo wrong.
I have followed this club since the early 60's and even in the days of fat fred and dummy doug was it this bad.

Obviously Ashley thinks he can do what he wants with no regard for the real fans. I agree with all the comments a pint and a shirt does not make the man.

You sir (I use that term in its loosest possible sense) are no toon supporter, hang your head in shame, take our money and run and while you are at it take your little unwise dwarf with you. Stick with KK we are with you!

Picture this - Ashley meets Keegan to discuss appointing him as manager.

"Right Kevin, I am a billionaire but what you need to know is that I won't be giving you a stash of cash to buy players.

In fact Kevin you will have to sell before you buy and the players you buy will be recommended not by you or your own coaching staff but by Denis Wise and a spanish guy we know.

Yes, you heard me right DENIS WISE and a spanish guy.

Now Denis will not only find first team players for you but he will also find the young lads that will save us even more money in the future AND he will be part of the senior management at the club. Just so everyone knows how important he is I'm going to pay him £1.5million a year.

Why?

Because I just want you to manage the first team Kevin and to help you do that I am going to reduce the squad to just 15/16 senior players. OK so far Kevin?

Right now another thing - wages. We need to get the bill down Kevin. I won't be paying any of these fancy wages and the first guy we need to sort out is Owen. Can you talk him into taking a 20% wage cut Kevin?

Now obviously I know you won't agree with everything I do to interfere with who we buy and sell - BUT Kevin - you have to tell the media that YOU have the final say on everything.

Oh, and another thing - the fans. Great are'nt they. They reckon if you hang 11 black & white shirts out to dry 50,000 would come and watch!! So, I reckon we can scrimp on signing players, reduce wages AND STILL bump season tickets up by 20/30% AND THEY'LL STILL TURN UP. Great eh, Kevin? I can lose the odd million at roulette and still afford a good drink and a curry afterwards.

Happy with everything you've heard Kevin? Great - you've got the job!"

Alas the appointment of KK was always doomed I fear. Ashley in his 'King Kev' shirt had the alarm bells ringing for me and since the beginning of his tenure theres been this almost obscene spectacle of the fat oaf and his equally corpulent hangers on gurning inanely throughout a match regardless of the score. His impersonation of Barney from the Simpsons at HT at the Emirates might have raised a chuckle with some but its disturbing really.

I suspect Ashley & co. are just having a boys own jamboree at the expense of the Toon faithful who they probs view as parochial chumps who never take their b/w shirts off. Maybe theres some truth in this, as there is with football fans everywhere but unfortunately the media are keen to jump all over any hint that us 'daft Geordies' are making mugs of ourselves over our football club. Anyway even if he does have some nefarious scheme to make a fast buck off the club, it wont work and surely he realizes that investing in Prem football clubs is largely sunk money.

Aye, the whole initial scene of smug Ashley trying to play the role of lercal hero when KK was unveiled was all a bit unseemly and then suddenly Dennis Wise inexplicably emerges in his 'executive' capacity. It was never going to work, KK wants full control but even his appointment was questionable. You always knew something had to give eventually.

Despite all the understandable wrath, hopefully(!) this is the time to move on to a proper new era leaving past legacies where they belong. However, if Ashley doesnt come up with some practical solutions maybe the fans should stay away even if it harms the club. Hmmmm, its not that simple is it? Dennis Wise as manager? Howay man! May as well appoint Terry Mac or bring Souness back!

This is the second time it has been badly misjudged the treatment of a popular figure at the club. Bobby was given short shrift after bringing a sense of gravitas to the club. Now Kev has been hoodwinked and put in a bad position to confirm the flakey character status many media bods like to afford him.

So what next? Assuming Wisey is a short term measure and any self-respecting and highly professional manager will be sceptical(!) about their prospects of building something, will Fat-heid go for Shearer?? Im already anticipating Ashley in his out-sized 'Big Al' shirt! Dont do it Shearer.......

That's it for me. If that dimwit can't see what he's done to the club, there's no telling what he'll continue to do. Let's afce it, there have been rumours in the national media about the divisions in the club, the role of Wise and the nature of Ashley's ownership. Much of this has been ignored because the fans and the local media resent outsiders passing opinions which are usually negative, but it looks like we were wrong and you have to wonder why the local TV, radio and print media haven't been more pro-active about some of the stuff that's been happening. I think that for one one game, we ought to boycott it.

I've defended Ashley over the past few weeks. Keegan was my barometer. As long as Kev was there, I was prepared to cut Ashley some slack. Well, that's it. I'm finished with the club. As long as Ashley's there, I won't be. We have got to make against the idiots ruining our club. I don't care what he paid to buy it. Or what debts he's written off. If Kev's voted with his feet, so should we. Trust Keegan. Make a stand before it's too late. Boycott ALL our games until Ashley gets the message and sells.

If Keegan doesn't stay it would make Ashley's reign even more unstable than Fat Freddys.
3 Managers in a year? Laughing Stock again?

Not sure about all these calls for Ashley's head. Is he running individual transfer decisions or is it Llambias, the man who runs the club day to day and apparently had the 'blazing row' with Keegan.

It seems to me Keegan is doing his job, but Llambias arguing when he hasn't done his job at all in this transfer window, doesn't bide well.
He needs to either lighten up or replace the men who aren't doing their job. What does Denis Wise do at this club again?
Jiminez or whatever he is called, has lined up all the Spanish talent, Keegan has got them playing well for the team, but who is responsible for making the much needed improvements to the squad in this transfer window?
Surely the 4 of them can do better than Fat Freddie Shepherd and Douglas 'where is England again' Hall??

Big Kirky said:

I'm down more than annoyed to be honest. We were eventually starting to play POSITIVE football, and towards the end of last season have been putting in some good performances. We now have to go through the slow cooker wait of finding a new manger (Deportivo manager rumour is convincing... as is anything with a Spanish twang.) What are the new players going to be thinking? (nevermind all of us!) I will be going to the match as I vocally support the lads all through the game, and have paid for our season tickets. However, I will be there before/after the game to voice me opinions toward the utter stupidity of even thinking of parting with Kevin.

Kevin was here for one thing... and that was to complete unfinished business by playing good football. For once, salary and wages doesn't come into it. To win something, you must invest big bucks. Surely, Ashley wasn't naive enough to think it would work any other way? Look at the Abu D. group... as soon as they take over Man City, they go putting bids in for Robinho, Berbatov, and Villa! That is the hardcore investment which the club needs to attempt to get into the top 4! Which I bet was what was sold to Keegan by Ashley. If Wise comes anywhere near that manager seat I'll be even more raging than now!!! God help him next game if he is there (if folk actually turn up that is...)

God Bless Newcastle United (for once!)

Keegan is a decent and honest football man. The least he expects is the same honesty in return from the people who 'run'??? the club he loves. The last time he left was because of the deciept, lies and false promises from the hiarachy. Did the chairman really think he could bluff Keegan who like the fans, lives and breathes the club, and understands what Newcastle needs to be successful? If he has gone, I dont blame him, I blame the suits who have now put themselves in an impossible situation. If they think they can weather the storm that WILL follow, lets see how they cope with only a handfull of away supporters in an empty St James'. I had faith in Mike Ashley, but I think he has made bad leadership decisions with the idiots in place to run the club. He best have a massive rabbit in the hat, or else put the club up for sale. Im sure someone in Dubai would stump up the money for a club with bigger crowds than Man City????Just read Gus Poyet for manager???

Mike Ashely has seriously underestimated what he has done. He doesn't understand us, the area or the club and he is finished on Tyneside.

Steve Parsons said:

Why do idiots in charge also treat our club like a playground? Im disgusted with the current state of affairs and once again, a man of the people, with dignity and principals has been removed. WHY would anyone want to take this job at this club other than for a love of the club and its supporters?

I shed a tear today, and fear that I cannot bring myself to return to ST James Park for a long long time. I will not attend matches, I will not buy merchandise. I AM A BROKEN MAN.

I have faxed and email the club to relay my feelings and would urge everyone to do the same. Please boycott the Hull match and let these people know we will not stand to be mistreated anymore.

Another sad day in the history of Newcastle United.

this is a total disgrace all this going on in the toon. this shopkeeper apparently tells the sponsers were going to get a WOW signing and end up with two uknowns and one of them loaned. sells quality players (milner). and now reports of sacking KK (7) HE HAS THE ORDACITY TO WEAR THE SHIRT WITH KING KEV ON THE BACK THEN STABS KEAGAN WHERE HIS NAME IS, WELL JUST LIK ELAST SEASON WITH SMITHY ON HIS SHIRT BUT HE SOON LOST FAVOUR WITH HIM THEN WE HAVE THE POSSIBLITY OF DENNIS UNWISE TAKING KEV'S RIGHTFUL THROWN WHAT HAS WISE DONE OH RIGHT MILLWALL FA CUP MMMM THEY LOST LEADS MMMMM RELEGATED TO THE BACK AND BEYOND THEN COMES TO THE TOON AND THINKS HE OWN'S IT. WELL I THINK ASHLEY SHOULD GO BACK TO SELLING FAKE FOOTBALL SHIRTS AND STOP TRYING TO PLAY A BIG MANS GAME WITH FAKE PLAYERS. BOYCOTT ALL THAT IS ASHLEY AND AS MUCH AS THIS PAINS TO SAY THAT ALSO MEENS NUFC HE NEEDS TO KNOW HE'S AN IDIOT AND THE FANS HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

NEWCASTLE HAVE JUST ANNOUNCED,Keegan not sacked, hes very important to us...NOW all we need is for KK to agree to come back(if indeed he went at all) and to hear that wise has been sacked........i still want ashley out......now.

Boycott the Hull game. Send Mike Ashley and his cronies a clear message.

King Kev isn't sacked!!!!!

Oh dear its all gone sarf for wise and co.
Perhaps KK has given MA an ultimatum. Either I run the team my way or its the highway! the choice is yours.
Looks like MA has been shocked by the fans reaction outside SJP.
Now all we need to hear is that Dennis the Mennis has left the club by mutual agreement.Ha Ha !
Respect to KK for standing up for what he believes.

Before Kev was brought in we were all after blood,King kev took us off the scent for a while and got our team off the ropes and fighting again.
We suvived to fight another day and then came along the summer along with the dark rain clouds that seemed to hang mainly over st james and the wonder of who is running this team.
Kev is the doom lifter,a man with passion and ever more increasing white hair(a sign of wisdom)that has belief for his club who will get us a pot for the cuboard.
Why once again is this club in control by the rich goblins who only care about money and crap on the true thing running this club the Fans,a mass of empty seats dont look good on match of the day.

... 4:45pm ... a shock "Arabian bid" is lodged to buy out Ashley ... it is conditional upon KK still being the boss ... and Wise not being at the club ... Ashley quickly back-tracks on his earlier sacking of Kev ... begs him to return so the deal can go through ... Wise is put on the first train back to the Smoke ... Keegan screeches his car to a halt on the A1 and turns around ... Ashley slopes off as quietly as a fat c*** can ... the Arabs arrive in Toon and it's free beer for ever season ticket holder forever ... the Premier League agrees to open the transfer window again, just for Newcastle ... the Arabs buy up the top 20 players voted for by the fans in a "who should we buy lads?" internet poll ...

Well, Man City's dreams came true, didn't they.

I think kk has been made to give some statements that have come from from the board in order to not bring any ill thought against them. Theyve used kk to shield themselves from the fans frustrations of lack of player investment.

I reckon kk has had enough of giving us this rubbish eg. the milner statement and decided to have it out with the board. Until kk speaks publicly its all just speculation of course but kk has been trying to put an optimistic face on things for a while, knowing we were hoping for a wow signing and getting a 'who' instead.

One things for sure if ashley didnt know already he does now,kk has the majority of fans backing over him or any of his cronies. After the scenes outside st.james they release the statement to ease frustrations distance themselves from blame.

I think even if kk left at a later date no one holds any trust for this board now and wont believe anything they say anymore. Resentment of the treatment they've given kk lately will remain and rear up on another occasion!

I'd hate to see kk go, i love his interviews-hes a funny guy and honest. he tries to play the game as it should be played(even with our lot) If kk does stay i think it will galvanise the already strong bond between kk and the fans. i think the board take us fans for granted, a city with 1 team with very passionate fans.

Imagine how much merchandise with robinho on wouldve shifted if we'd got him. The uragayuan fella we've got for a year, no ones gonna buy a shirt with his name on cos he'll be off in 12 months! speculate to accumulate ashley.

im still waiting to hear from the keegan, if he has left i hope he tells us exactly what roles the 3 idiots do at the club and what ashley said about how much money was available.

hope you stay kev but cannot blame you if have decided to walk.

Topper said:

All it says is that Kev has not been sacked. It doesn't say that he hasn't walked...

stuart said:

Doesn't really matter who is in charge, we just can't compete with Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd financially. The only way we could was if Ashley sold up to someone with some decent cash behind him. These Arabs at City approached Ashley about the toon and he said no! Well least we know he doesn't want to sell up.. Oh how i wish Ashley really wasn't committed to the toon so he would just sell up and get out!

Neil Povey said:

Ashley has used Keegan to make money. First, he sold thousands of shirts with KK's name on. Then he sold thousands of Season tickets which most most people bought because KK was the manager and they have faith in him. Now that he has got our money in his pocket he feels that KK is no longer needed. Ashley you haven't got a clue.
I will boycott the Hull game if Keegan is not in charge and I urge you all to do the same. We have to stand together on this one we can't go on getting short changed. We must get Ashley Wise and the rest of his mates out!

M. Sebastian T. said:

I have said all along that Keegan coming back was a mistake. If both he and Ashley go then great. However that in itself will not change anything until the cancer that obviously affects NUFC has been cut out. Basically the whole structure is wrong and whoever replaces KK will have to have Keane like authority to do the surgery. Only after all the pain can the club start to move away from being sick and the biggest joke in Football.

But probably what will happen next is the return of Bobby!

Benton said:

Sounds like the Board are trying to avoid paying KK off. They need him to walk, which explains the statement that he is still manager.

Ashley has lost any remaining confidence the fans might have had in him. The rest of the Board (what do they all do?) commanded no respect in the first place.

Anyone from Abu Dhabi holidaying on the Toon? Just don't quote them 400 million, Mike, OK?

Ralph Morris said:

Just a thought; Why hasn't KK came out and said he's still manager? He's the only one I'd believe anyway.

David McLeod said:

Kevin Keegan brought the best football that this country has ever seen during the 1990s. He has values and beliefs that set him apart from the rest. He could have brought it all over again. Don't let the board do to us what they did in the 80s. Mike Ashley, GOODBYE!

i cant believe ashley spent the money to buy newcastle to self destruct, but then did he buy the club ,or merely use his name but his tottenham mates money ,to destroy us seen as they cant beat us on the pitch.I along with my geordie wife watch every game we can live on sky or setanta in australia and we cant believe what this wanker is doing to a once mighty club , especially giving that equally obnoxious and totally brain dead , wise a job . I have heaps of memoribillia i have brought on previous trips and on the net , with authentication certicates which along with ashleys or his mates investment will be totally worthless if this club becomes tottenhams or heavean forbid sunderlands third side. Someone has to be able to save this once great club from this wanker and his regime.

Hello fans,
Sorry for Kev, and it looks like ( to many chiefs not enough indians ? ) And Wise wants Kev's job,?

Keane said he would not put up with the crap from Sunderland board. and why should Kev, They want him to walk out so they don't need to pay out his contract.

Ashly will not spend, and he wants to sell to abu-daby group. He will not bail out his club, does not like spending money, MULAH. Then why did he buy, ?..and has placed Kev in a precarious position.

Just Hearing on 5 live from Richard Bevin that Kev is not resigning (He has not walked away) but they are going to have more discusions over the next two days..

Bevan of the LMA has just said on FIVE LIVE that the "important matters" Keegan and Ashley will discuss over the next few days "DO NOT" involve a compensation package.

He said Keegan is still an employee of NUFC.

does it suprise you that ashley has had an opera singer in twice to sing the blaydon races,

well it should of been expected with this SOAP OPERA OF A CLUB IS KK IN OR OUT TURN ON THE LIGHTS SOMEBODY AND LET US SEE.

IF KK IS STAYING CAN WE HAVE A PIBLIC STATEMENT SOON AND CAN THE FANS BE ASSURED THAT THE MANAGER DOES HAVE CONTROL

karl said:

Regardless of whether KK stays or goes, MA and his 'band of brothers' have done enough damage to ruin the clubs standing, alienate the fans and turn us into the laughing stock of the premier league. What top class player in their right mind would want to come here after seeing the farce played out this week? What the **** is Wise responsible for? What the **** is Jimenez doing? Would Ferguson, Wenger, Scolari put up with this nonsense? In a word NO. I'm a geordie by birth but live in NI and I'm ashamed at the circus being played out at the moment. What on earth is MA talking about when he says he's going to have a bit of fun? He's a muppet. Just because he wears a b&w shirt and drinks pints with the 'normal' fans doesn't mean to say he's a fan. It's obviously an attempt to look like he's 'one of us', when in fact his 'antics' simply make him look like a buffoon to every other football fan in the land. He's obviously got a problem with honesty. KK was right, we've no hope of breaking into the top four this or next season. MA needs to understand its the fans that keep his 'plaything' afloat - we stop going his business crumbles. I'm sure the players are scratching their heads wondering what the hell is going on now. KK is now in an impossible position. If he stays his body language of late says he's not happy, if he walks MA and his cronies will obviously make a big deal of the fact that they haven't sacked him. What a bloody mess! Do us all a favour MA, sell up now to someone with an honest interest in the toon, and take Wise and his pals with you.

By an amazing coincidence I had a reporter knock on my door yesterday...

"We've heard, that someone overheard you and your missus arguing, because she said you were having steak for tea and you only got beans on toast - is that true?"

Of course I told him it was none of his business and shut the door in his face.

Now I have to cope with loads of speculation from ill-informed journalist and ill-informed members of the public about whether I'm leaving her, or whether she's left me, whether it was the mother-in-law that bought the beans, did I know anything about the beans, do I like beans, what will be the affect of the beans on our relationship, and can we now get back together after this tawdry bean based argument.

You could argue that I should step out of the door and let everyone know whats happening - but why should I answer speculation...

...until I decide to comment ITS NOT NEWS its speculation.

Until we actually find out whats happening can people stop condemning Ashley/Wise/Keegan or whoever, stop believing everything you hear or read.

We don't know what has gone on behind closed doors, and if there has been a disagreement, I don't think a bunch of kids and the unemployable with mispelt banners being whipped up into a frenzy by TV cameras really helps anything.
