Is it time to raise the roof again to blow away moneybags Man City?

The Toon Army will be straining at the leash by the time both Man City and Newcastle are ready to kick off on Monday night after what seems like a month long wait for another slice of black and white action.

And with United looking for their first win since August, when Bolton Wanderers lost 1-0 at Gallowgate, Toon fans will be praying that the United players are reading from the same page.

There is a good chance that could well be the case come kick off time with interim boss Joe Kinnear, renowned for his match day motivational skills that helped keep Wimbledon on the map, likely to have the lads whipped up into a frenzy.

After Black September on Tyneside, over 110,000 fans let fly on this Blog and made their feelings known in no uncertain terms about just what they thought of the mess which resulted in Kevin Keegan quitting the club.

Certainly since JK shocked the world of football to take over in his place, many fans were left speechless while some considered throwing in the towel.

But since Kinnear took over, he made it clear that while he was trying to re-establish himself in the game, he was also fighting the corner of the Toon Army and would do everything he could in his time in charge to steer the club away from relegation to the Championship.

The last three home games at St James's Park have offered three very different atmospheres.

Fury and disgust as fans protested against Hull City about the Cockney Mafia, empty seats against Spurs after the rock bottom London side dumped United out of the cup amidst the subdued atmosphere and then a mixed bag against Blackburn as players slowly started to lift themselves from the canvas.

One thing that remained the same though was the 2-1 reverse scoreline for United.

With Kinnear sure to get the Toon Army on his side early doors against City, it's expected that the home crowd will pump up the volume to attempt to drown out the Micky taking Man City away support who will be rubbing their hands at the prospect of causing a further upset.

IS IT TIME TO PUMP UP THE VOLUME AGAIN FOR BIG JOE AND THE LADS?

Such a shame Sir Joseph of Huyton isn't playing. City would not be where we are today without his unique talents. Thanks Joey.

The idea that BJ will restore morale and get the team flying against the City Slickers is a good one. But today the media is again full of unhelpful speculation about Nigeria business men, lawsuits against NUFC, who could be the next manager, etc, etc, etc. It certainly will be interesting(!) to see just how badly the players are effected by everything going on. Spurs are in a tail spin and clubs like Everton and West Ham also look shaky. This season will probably come down to which teams can keep their nerves under control.

It would be great to see a full house and the volume turned up but I still feel that the good times are a long way off!
Biggest problem tonight is our striker options, Ameobi, Xisco or Duff wouldn't really frighten me if I were a City center half. Fingers crossed that Martins can be passed fit to start or at least come on second half, if not I would love Big Joe to put young Ranger on the bench and give him 20mins at the end, maybe he could be a surprise package??
Will be happy with a draw tonight but just hoping luck is on our side and we can sneak something. Come on lads, do us proud and play your hearts out.

Up the spurs?! is that a joke? Out of anyone in the Premiership you of all people have the least right to mock!
And you definitely have no place on this page.

The luck of the Irish perhaps: It was Man City players 3 and NUFC players 1, but 2-2 for their teams tonight. Toon were actually lucky although it was City who are probably relieved. JB probably cannot believe his luck so far!
