Blackpool 2 Newcastle United 1
NEWCASTLE United's unbeaten run ended tonight at Bloomfield Road with a 2-1 defeat to Blackpool.
Striker Andy Carroll, newly recovered from a groin injury, put the Toon in front just before the break but the home side pressed their advantage as Newcastle threw away their lead in the second half.
The defeat has come as a reality check to Chris Hughton's men and they face a real test of nerve at home against Plymouth on Saturday.
As usual I was at the ground to bring you regular updates on the action and let you get involved in all the drama.

Argentina has the same problems as Newcastle .
La camisa - the strip.
You cannot see it and Diego in Addidas black and blue - - he looks so miserable - what an inspiration."

âÂÂOur change kit clashes with Blackpool's tangerine, so we wear a third kit. What's wrong with our black and white stripes?!!âÂÂ
I am amazed too Lennye.
But the answer is easy. It's all about âÂÂplataâ as they say here â money!
And whoever decides on the strip has no vision. Is a short term thinker!
Who decides what strip is worn Hughton, Ashley or Addidas?
In my humble opinion scrap the black and blue strip immediately.
Lee: Ask the players, ask the medics: In which strip can you quickly see your mates most clearly?
Which strip makes you happier?
As I said before re Argentina BLACK and BLUE IS MISERABLE!
If your wear black and blue you are asking to be bruised - and we were!
Lee we lost again by one goal.
Is last season going to repeat itself.
âÂÂWhen will they ever learn? âÂÂ
Again who decides which strip is worn ?
Lee There must be an answer!
Please stop ducking the issue!
Shades of Hughton and Calderwood's stint in charge last season. Awful midfield not supporting the forward, leaving it too late to apply any real pressure and dim-witted substitutions. Barton was awful and his frustration at his own limitations was beginning to show. Why on earth Guthrie and Taylor went first when Barton and Nolan were the obvious candidates. Much as I admire Nolan's fighting spirit, he doesn't have the legs to last 60 minutes, never mind 90. He's slower than Geremi, who laid on a great cross for him and he missed a sitter. Not that we would have deserved it. Why leave it so late to bring Ranger on? Had Hughton given up hope?
thats what happen when you play 1 up front away at blackpool you clueless little bar steward.
2-1 down 15 mins to go we need someone to turn the game who does houghton turn to? geremi. the worst player i have ever scene in a black and white shirt. not the young lad with a bit pace and able to turn a defender no geremi.cannot see newcastle staying where they are with decisions like that and playing 5 midfielders to stop blackpool yes blackpool playing.
Geremi put in the cross that Nolan should've scored from. He's no worse than Nolan or Barton in his current dismal form. The selection was lousy to begin with. Ranger and Louvenkrands should've started. Not hauling off Barton earlier and taking off Guthrie and Ryan Taylor was all wrong. Bad memories of when he was in charge last season. Five midfielders to stop Blackpool playing - and none of them could.
