Danny boy in good company when it comes to spot-kick horror
Danny Guthrie admitted he was "all over the place" after he'd missed a crucial penalty against Queens Park Rangers in midweek but without doubt he is in good company when it comes to penalty villains.
For a start Alan Shearer will never forget his high profile miss against Sunderland at the Gallowgate End in 2000 but he'll also never forget the way he ended his career against the Mackems by sticking one in during the 4-1 victory against the Wearsiders in his final game.
Obafemi Martins not only blazed one over at Everton during his time in Toon to contribute to a painful 3-0 defeat on Merseyside in 2006 and more notably missed at Gallowgate when his backpass against Arsenal last season meant United were pushed closer to the Championship.
How far do you go back?
I've lost count of the amount of times we've lost penalty shoot-outs Partizan Belgrade in the Champions League, Chelsea in the FA Cup, Bournemouth in the FA Cup, Tranmere in the Zenith Data Systems Cup, Everton in the League Cup at St James's Park - the list is almost endless.
A quick flick through the history books could make Guthrie feel a bit better.
And in any case if Guthrie starts against Bristol City, he will once again step up to take spot-kicks.
Then only he can bury those bad memories of the nightmare that was QPR.

Is it true that at the Stadium of Sh*te they have a huge photo of the Shearer penalty miss? That would be just like them, rather than getting behind their own team...
Anyhow, get over it, Danny. Trouble is, after he missed the pen, he was terrible.
