Blog on the Tyne review of 2009

I'VE documented Newcastle United's rollercoaster year and covered all the big news during a turbulent time on Tyneside.
The last 12 months have been a trauma for Toon fans across the board, with the changes in manager, shocking defeats and ultimately relegation.
But this has now given way to a new sense of purpose at Gallowgate and we've now got a resolute side which has pushed itself to the top of the Championship.
This blog has chronicled all the big events both on and off the field with my take on life following the Magpies.
Here I take a look back at some of my posts from 2009.
January:

February:
In the company of the legend that is Tino Asprilla
March:
It won't be anything like Cloughie v Revie
April:
The warning signs were there, but we all started fearing the R word
May:
Relegation - pitiful, shameful relegation
June:
When training was more like a spa for pampered Toon stars
July:
Memories of Sir Bobby will live on forever
August:
Bassong might have been a nobody when he came to Toon - but the fans know him now.
September:

November:

December:
Middlesbrough have become a bigger laughing stock than Newcastle United
Merry Christmas to everyone who reads Blog on the Tyne, thanks for your support during 2009.

« Don't cry for yesterday - Newcastle United sample life in an ordinary world | Oh by the way have you heard of us - Sporting Chance? »

What on earth happened? 2-2 against Sheff Wed!? No imagination in the centre of midfield and a couple of carthorses. Should've started with Harewood and Louvenkrands and Guthrie in the middle. On top of that, thr defence were making the same mistakes that made us the laughing stock last season.
I find it hard to believe they could come this low, maybe a better ÃÅœ10?
