Newcastle United 2 West Bromwich Albion 2
WEST Bromwich Albion held Newcastle United to a draw at St James' Park in a tense game which ended 2-2.
It was a nailbiting fixture from the off as unbeaten-at-home Newcastle took on their biggest Championship rivals.
Olsson opened the scoring for the Baggies in the 14th minute but an equaliser was just ten minutes away courtesy of Danny Guthrie.
Bednar pushed West Brom in front just after the break but Peter Lovenkrands delighted Toon fans with a reply on 53 minutes. He followed the header with an gesture skywards in an emotional tribute to his late father.

What a way for Simpson to go. He was awful. The worst player on the park by a mile. What happened to him? Slow, easily beaten and backing off all the time. Hughton left it far too late to replace him. To be honest, I thought we rode our luck, but they were so dirty (surely we should've had at least one penalty) that I felt they came away luckier than we were. Unfortunately, we are too often second to the ball and we have a central midfield pairing who add very little. Smith made one great stop, but otherwise he was poor. All the goodwill his performances engendered in the early part of the season has been undone with flat performances like this one. Of course, it could've been worse: it could've been Butt. Nolan was better going forward in the second half, but from behind the goal in the Leazes, you could see our centre was wide open time and time again. Trouble is, I can't see Hughton replacing either of them. I now find myself looking forward to Barton coming back. Shudder. And I'll shudder even more if, as I suspect, Guthrie will be the one to make way rather than the 'untouchables'.
Exiled into deepest darkest Norfolk I watched the game on the telly.
The way our midfield were completely overran from minute one to minute 94 was very worrying. We can only dream of some quick, clever, forward thinking players like Dorrans.
