Blog on the Tyne at the Peterborough match

By Lee Ryder on Apr 3, 10 11:00 AM

I'VE made the trip down to Peterborough on a day when the Toon could secure promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The maths are simple. United only need another six points to guarantee going back up, regardless of what happens anywhere else.

While five points would almost certainly be enough, two wins mean United would not have to rely on goal difference.

Victories against Peterborough and at home to Sheffield United on Easter Monday would mean the Magpies are back in the top flight.

And it could happen today if Chris Hughton's men win at London Road and Nottingham Forest lose at Bristol City.

Either way I'll be bringing you all the colour and drama from the match against Posh as the Toon Army warm up for one hell of a party.

The game isn't on TV, so you'll have to join me for regular updates on the action, plus a bit of banter with the fans.
