Champagne on ice for Newcastle United

By Lee Ryder on Apr 3, 10 06:28 PM

It wasn't quite Grimsby Town away like 1993 or even the old Leeds Road and Huddersfield like in 1984.

But a hard earned victory and vastly improved second half performance at Peterborough puts Newcastle within touching distance of the Premier League once again.

They may not even have to kick a ball if Nottingham Forest don't see off Cardiff at the City Ground.

Even then a point will be enough.

But you just get the feeling that United will do it by getting a victory in any way required.

Against Posh they were second best for long periods but showed why they are top of the league and on the brink of being crowned champs.

Roll on Monday night and Sheff United!
