Blog on the Tyne at the PSV match
CHRONICLE chief sports writer Lee Ryder is at the PSV match as Newcastle United continue their pre-season preparations.
It is sure to be an emotional night for both sets of fans as the day marks the one-year anniversary since the sad passing of Sir Bobby Robson.
Sir Bobby led both clubs with dignity and distinction, saving Newcastle United from the threat of relegation, and bringing through stars such as the Brazilian Ronaldo during his time with the Dutch side.
The game also promises to be a stern work-out for the Toon players as we edge closer to the opening Premier League game against Manchester United.
To get involved, come back here at 2.45pm on Saturday or click below to set a reminder.
NOTE: The format of the match blog has changed again after last week.
We know that some people were unhappy with the new way of doing things, and we have listened to your concerns.
This week, we will be accepting comments in the normal way but only before the match, at half-time, and at full-time. These will be moderated.
In between Lee will bring you blow-by-blow coverage of the game.
This is still a trial period for us ahead of the new season, and we welcome your feedback.
Any questions or thoughts on the new system please email colin.george@ncjmedia.co.uk
Thanks, and enjoy the game.
