Why Haris Vuckic will come back fitter and stronger
My heart went out when I heard the news that Haris Vuckic had suffered a bad injury at Villa Park last night.
Injuries are sadly part of the parcel in football but for Vuckic it comes at a crucial time for him and like most Newcastle fans, you can only wish him a speedy recovery.
The Slovenian was going to get chances in the next few weeks with Europa League action coming up so to suffer the knee problem in the reserves is cruel luck.
Vuckic, of course, is far too good to be operating at second string level but still needed the match practice to stay on top of things for when the call for first team action comes.
Still just 20, he is regarded as the shining example at the club's training ground when it comes to putting in the hours and taking on the advice offered on and off the field.
The reliable eastern European may well be down in the dumps but just like he showed at the end of last term, he is young enough and fit enough to come back even better.
What doesn't destroy, only makes you stronger they say, and those words couldn't be truer for Vuckic today.
